SLAM! revamps programming

To optimize the listening experience and reinforce the daily rhythm, radio station SLAM! will be making targeted changes to its programming starting January 5. Jarno van der Wielen will now be heard immediately after the morning show, and Thomas van Empelen's program will be extended. The afternoon show will start an hour later and will be presented by Patrick Wolda, Julia Maan, and Erik-Jan Rosendahl. The programming will apply from Monday to Thursday; on Fridays, the MixMarathon will continue to be broadcast.

New programming as of January 5:

6:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. – Marijn Oosterveen

7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – SLAM! Morning show with Anoûl Hendriks & Marijn Oosterveen

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Jarno van der Wielen

12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Housuh in de Pauzuh

1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Thomas van Empelen

5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – SLAM! Afternoon show with Patrick Wolda, Julia Maan & Erik-Jan Rosendahl

Martijn Zuurveen, Station Director: “The programming is at the heart of what we do every day, and with this update, we are making even better use of the power of our DJs. The changes in frequencies last fall helped us take a fresh look at the station. With this new daily schedule, we expect to retain listeners better throughout the day.”

Zuurveen continues: "After the 2023 frequency auction, in which we lost our national FM package, SLAM! did something that no one thought possible. Through adjustments to the music, the team's hard work, and a clear focus, our market share was back to its pre-auction level in no time. This step is a logical next phase: we are building on what works and focusing even more strongly on rhythm, recognizability, and energy throughout the day."

Immediately after the SLAM! Morning Show, Jarno van der Wielen takes over, guiding listeners through the morning with energy and presenting the first hour of the successful format ‘Housuh in de Pauzuh’. The second hour and most of the afternoon are covered by Thomas van Empelen. At 5 p.m., the SLAM! Middagshow starts, where Patrick Wolda, together with Julia Maan and Erik-Jan Rosendahl, closes the day with lots of atmosphere, pop-dance music, and high-profile guests. From 8 p.m. onwards, SLAM! broadcasts non-stop music.

The weekend programming will remain unchanged for the time being, with regulars such as Hielke Boersma and Raoul Schram, as well as new talent, including Florian Hamelink and Jeske van Trigt. Jeske was recently nominated for the Marconi Award for Up-and-Coming Talent, which will be presented in January 2026 during the Radio Gala of the Year.
