Radio station 100% NL will launch the new chart, the ‘100% NL Top 1000’, on Monday 7 September. Over the past two weeks, listeners cast thousands of votes for their favourite songs from Dutch soil. Today, Rob van Someren announced during Somertijd that Samuel Welten has claimed the number one position with ‘Echte Liefde Is Te Koop’. The new chart aligns with the station’s strategy of exclusively playing music by Dutch artists.

The top 10 of the first edition of the 100% NL Top 1000 is as follows:

From timeless sing-along classics to the latest hits, the 100% NL Top 1000 is a collection of the best songs originating from Dutch soil. Marco Borsato is the most represented artist in the Top 1000 with 34 entries. He is closely followed by BLØF with 30 entries, while Snelle follows with 23 songs in the chart.

Artists’ favourites
During the voting period, various artists shared which songs they felt definitely deserved a place in the chart. Davina Michelle selected ‘De Waarheid’ by Marco Borsato, Samuel Welten chose ‘Toveren’ by Herman van Veen, and Russo named ‘Zaterdag’ by BLØF as his favourite. Rolf Sanchez, meanwhile, chose ‘Waarom Nou Jij’ by Marco Borsato.
The Hits of the Netherlands
According to Station Director a.i. Coco Hermans, the new chart highlights the direction 100% NL is taking: “We have chosen to truly show our colours, and that colour is, of course, orange. That is why our regular programming is fully dedicated to music by Dutch artists: from established names to new talent, and from pop to folk music. Whether an artist sings in Dutch, English or Spanish, if it comes from Dutch soil, it belongs on 100% NL. This way, listeners know exactly what they can expect from us: the Hits of the Netherlands.”

The 100% NL Top 1000 can be heard on the station until Friday 18 September. On the final day, the station will conclude the chart with the ultimate fan experience: an intimate performance by 100% NL Top 1000 winner Samuel Welten, exclusively for 50 100% NL listeners in attendance.
