New Saturday night show Frank van der Lende: Radio Veronica’s Live Club
Starting March 22, Frank van der Lende will be hosting a new show every Saturday evening that is all about the best live music: “Radio Veronica's Live Club.” Every week, he will welcome well-known artists to the studio to talk about music with listeners.
Frank van der Lende explains: “Every Saturday evening, I want to talk to an artist about music and life as if we were sitting in a bar. Listeners can join in by calling in with questions and stories about their favorite concert experiences. I'm also testing out some great locations so that in the future we'll have a real bar where we can get together and make this program!”
The 36-year-old DJ visited Ekdom in de Morgen this morning to talk about his plans. Who will be featured in the first broadcast is still a surprise, Frank told Gerard. He did mention some examples, though. “Think of Kensington, with their new singer, Rondé, or Wild Romance, Herman Brood's band. And did you know that Loïs Lane is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year?” During the broadcast, the artist will take center stage and Frank wants to delve deeper with them, both musically and personally.
Robbert-Jan van de Velde, station director at Radio Veronica: “With Veronica's Live Club, Frank is bringing a program that Veronica is currently missing: an evening filled with the best live music and enjoyable conversations with artists and listeners. In the future, there will also be a physical location where we can come together and make music.”
The Veronica's Live Club program is a new step with the aim of bringing the “clubhouse feeling” to listeners. Radio Veronica embarked on this new path last year with the arrival of Gerard Ekdom, Wouter van der Goes, and Frank van 't Hof. The initial results are positive: the station is experiencing significant growth in recent listener ratings.
