Radio Veronica launches new national radio station; Mediahuis Radio strengthens digital portfolio

Radio Veronica is launching a new national digital station: Radio Veronica Goud van Oud. The popular program will have its own station, which will focus entirely on the best classics. From January 6, the station will be available throughout the Netherlands via DAB+. Parent company Mediahuis Radio is also implementing a number of changes to its online radio stations to further strengthen its portfolio.

CEO Mediahuis Radio, Tom Klerkx: “More and more people are listening to radio digitally and online. That is why we have taken a close look at our offering and decided to further optimize it. With these changes, we are strengthening our digital presence and ensuring better musical coordination of our theme channels. Our goal is to offer the perfect radio mix for our listeners.”

The program Goud van Oud (Golden Oldies) is one of Radio Veronica's most listened to shows and is presented daily by Marisa Heutink. To build on this success, Radio Veronica Goud van Oud is being launched as a new national channel. From January 6, the station can be listened to on any DAB+ radio, including most car radios.

In addition to the new station, Radio Veronica offers two other DAB+ channels: the main station and Radio Veronica Non-Stop (formerly Radio Veronica Classics). The new Radio Veronica Goud van Oud will take over the frequency of the station Sunlite, which will continue online.

Mediahuis Radio is also making changes to the theme channels of SLAM! and Sublime. From January 6, SLAM! Hardstyle will change to SLAM! WKNDMX and SLAM! 40 to SLAM! 10s. At Sublime, Sublime Funk & Disco will be renamed Sublime R&B 90s & 00s, and Sublime Smooth will be renamed Sublime Sunday Chill. These changes will better align the theme channels with specific listening preferences.
