The savings supplement: Dirk responds strongly to Prinsjesdag

While the entire political establishment in The Hague is poring over the contents of the Budget Memorandum, supermarket chain Dirk surprised its customers and readers of De Telegraaf with a ‘savings supplement’. With this, Dirk is responding strongly to Prinsjesdag and the annual discussion about purchasing power and prices. This is not the first time Dirk has made its voice heard in this way, but never before has an entire supplement been printed to convey Dirk's message: groceries must be and remain affordable for everyone. The specially created ‘savings supplement’ appeared in De Telegraaf last Saturday with no fewer than eight pages and shows how Dirk helps customers shop smart every day.

With this campaign, Dirk is emphasizing its message that responsible and affordable shopping is not a matter of one day a year, but a promise that the supermarket stands for year after year.

Marcel Huizing, managing director of Dirk, said of the savings supplement: "Traditionally, we at Dirk mark Prinsjesdag. This time with our own publication in which we put pressure on politicians in The Hague and other supermarkets. We tackle important consumer issues such as TV commercials that consumers pay for, fair product comparisons, and the high prices of A-brands, which should be affordable for everyone."

With its Prinsjesdag 2025 campaign, Dirk shows that the supermarket chain is not only focused on prices, but also has an eye for current issues and the experience of its customers.
