Mediahuis wins multiple awards at Website of the Year awards
Gold for Manners at Website of the Year
Several Mediahuis titles won awards at the Website of the Year awards ceremony. The annual public awards recognize the best and most popular websites in the Netherlands, divided into various categories.
Manners was awarded the gold award for Most Popular Lifestyle, Home & Living Website. Dumpert took home two silver awards in the categories Best Website Communities and Most Popular Website Communities. Metronieuws won silver for Best News Website and silver for Most Popular News Website. In addition, the culinary platform Culy was awarded gold for Most Popular Food & Beverages Website.
Alrik de Jong, team lead and editor-in-chief of Manners, is delighted with the win: "It's great fun to win such an award. With a small, dedicated team, we reach millions of Dutch people through well-researched stories about careers, health, style, and films. We make dry, complex topics understandable and give simple topics a shine. Always with the reader at the center. It's great that it is precisely those readers, as this is a public award, who have given Manners this prize.“
Amarins de Boer, editor-in-chief of Metro & platform manager at Mediahuis Nederland, emphasizes the strength of the various editorial teams: ”I am proud of the achievements of Metro, Manners, and Culy. It shows that the public appreciates what we do: creating authentic and personal content in all kinds of forms. With Culy, we create the most delicious recipes every day, with Metro we bring you the news you want to know, and the Manners editorial team is on top of topics such as money & careers, health, and films & series."
“These awards are a wonderful token of appreciation at a time when we are also expanding. Our brands are increasingly visible on external platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. The fact that our websites are still greatly appreciated by our readers is the icing on the cake.”
