Corporate social responsibility is part of Mediahuis’s strategy.

Improving environmental performance

Mediahuis values sustainable relationships, including those with the environment. The main raw materials Mediahuis uses are energy and paper. That is why, in improving its environmental performance, Mediahuis focuses on energy reduction, CO2 reduction, and the use of sustainably certified paper. Read more about sustainability here.

ISO 14001 Certificate
In 2016, Mediahuis implemented the ISO 14001 environmental management system and obtained the corresponding certification. Mediahuis’s printing facility consistently meets the criteria required for this certification. These criteria apply, among other things, to monitoring to prevent potential environmental risks, managing all relevant environmental aspects, and complying with all legal obligations.

Responsible Procurement
Mediahuis strives for corporate social responsibility. Mediahuis expects the same commitment from its partners and suppliers. Mediahuis prefers to build long-term, sustainable relationships. Responsible procurement is therefore an integral part of the policy, with corresponding internal process agreements.

Within the scope of Mediahuis’s corporate social responsibility policy, considerations are made regarding environmental, social, and financial aspects. This forms the basis of the criteria taken into account in the procurement processes. Mediahuis expects every supplier to at least comply with the obligations arising from national and international laws and regulations. Mediahuis maintains a Code of Conduct for Suppliers. Every supplier wishing to do business with Mediahuis must sign this code of conduct. This code of conduct includes provisions regarding, for example, responsible waste management and emissions, environmental protection, and forced and child labor.
