25-year-old Thom couldn’t believe he was right when Gerard Ekdom told him the good news. “No way! I’m retiring!” he joked.
The BNNVARA presenter, known for shows like De Lama’s, was guessed after more than three weeks. This fell just short of the record amount, which remains in the name of neuroscientist Erik Scherder. His name wasn’t guessed until after five weeks, and he remains the most expensive Whisperer ever with €31,200.

In “The Whisperer,” listeners must guess who is whispering “Radio Veronica, Join The Club.” That sounds easy, but time and again it proves to be quite a challenge. This edition of “The Whisperer” has now come to an end. The game was played several times a day recently. The prize money started at €3,000 and increased by €200 for every wrong answer. Listeners participated by sending “whisperer” to the Radio Veronica app, giving them a chance to provide the correct answer live on the air. Previous Whisperers included Bridget Maasland, DJ Jean, and Viktor Brand.
