Radio station SLAM! launches ‘SLAM! Sunsets’ on the first day of summer: a new summer programme featuring one hundred DJ sets, including Armin van Buuren, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Eric Prydz and Franky Rizardo. At every sunset, two DJs from the Netherlands and abroad will play a one-hour set.
In addition to the DJs mentioned above, the line-up also features names such as Purple Disco Machine, Mees Salomé, Nora En Pure, Laura van Dam, Meduza and Monocule, the alter ego of Nicky Romero. SLAM! Sunsets can be heard from 21 June up to and including 27 August every Sunday to Thursday at sunset.
For this new concept, SLAM! records DJ sets at various locations across the Netherlands, from the Amsterdam skyline to the Dutch coast. SLAM! Sunsets kicks off with a special set overlooking the rooftop bar of the WTC tower in Amsterdam.
Station Manager Frederique van Dalen shares the following about the new programme: "SLAM! Sunsets shows what we stand for as a station: the best dance music, with the right energy at the right moment. We combine established names such as Armin van Buuren, Franky Rizardo, Eelke Kleijn and Eric Prydz with hidden gems from the dance scene, who absolutely belong at the top musically. That makes every sunset this summer just that little bit more special."
With the introduction of SLAM! Sunsets, the station underlines its position as the dance station of the Netherlands. While listeners can tune in on Fridays for the MixMarathon and on Saturdays for extensive dance programming, SLAM! also offers a fixed place for electronic music on weekday evenings this summer.
