Radio Veronica climbs to fifth position with continued strong growth in the first half of 2026
The listening figures for the first half of 2026 once again show strong growth for Radio Veronica. The station’s market share increased by 20% in both the broad 13+ target group and the commercial 20–59 target group. Market share now stands at 4.8% among 13+ and 6.7% among 20–59. This moves Radio Veronica up two places in the top 10 of the largest radio stations, overtaking Radio 10 and JOE, both of which lost market share.

Radio Veronica’s growth also contributes to the development of the entire station group. Mediahuis Radio is the only station group to show growth in the 13+ target group in the first half of the year. Market share increased by 6% to 9.9%. In the commercial 20–59 target group, Mediahuis Radio grew by 3% to a market share of 12.4%. |
Radio Veronica developmentWhen comparing the half-year figures from recent periods, Radio Veronica shows a clear growth trend. Since the second half of 2024, the station has focused on creating a ‘clubhouse feeling’, where everyone is welcome. This coincided with the arrival of Gerard Ekdom in the morning and the afternoon show hosted by Wouter van der Goes and Frank van ’t Hof. Since then, the station has also focused on playing the ‘Best Music of All Time’. |
The stations SLAM! and 100% NL saw a decline in the first half of 2026 compared with the first half of 2025. However, SLAM! recorded record figures at that time and is now back at the level of the second half of 2025. Both SLAM! and 100% NL recently appointed a new Station Director. They will continue building the next phase of the radio stations in the coming period.
