Mediahuis Dinner '25: a special evening of stories and connection

Mediahuis Dinner '25: a special evening of stories and connection

On Tuesday, February 11, flavors and stories melted together during the third edition of the Mediahuis dinner. Mediahuis's most important relations met at a special location. Hidden behind a farm in Eastermar, Friesland, surrounded by a vegetable garden, pick-your-own garden, and food forest, they enjoyed a dinner prepared by chef Kees Meinderts in the Mearkas.

The Mediahuis dinner ‘25 took guests on a journey, from appetizer to dessert, with the theme 'stories that touch’. About words that touch, images that linger, and experiences that make an impact. Old acquaintances and new faces found each other at the table, shared stories, and added new chapters to old memories.

The evening's conversation topics came from a special trio. Joël Darius, creative strategist at Mediahuis, led the dance and opened the evening. Documentary maker Pieter Busman added extra depth to the theme of ‘stories that touch’ with his keynote speech. Just over a year ago, he won the Best Social Award for best positive impact, a prize for creators who discuss social issues on social media. Perhaps the most beautiful lesson of the evening came from choreographer and theater maker Mohamed Yusuf Boss. He called on those present to slow down. In a world where speed is often the norm, he believes that slowing down is what adds depth.

All guests left with a copy of the book Socrates op Sneakers (Socrates in Sneakers) under their arms: a call to keep listening. Because good stories don't just happen; stories that touch people always start with good listening.

Mediahuis is building a tradition with its own star-studded dinners. A tradition in which it creates a moment of appreciation, recognition, and connection in a unique place in the North, together with its most important relationships. View the photos below.
