Child Safety Standards on Hyves

At Hyves, we believe it is important that everyone can use the platform safely. Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) is not permitted on Hyves under any circumstances.

This applies to all forms of content and behaviour that sexually exploit, abuse or endanger children. This includes Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), grooming, sexual exploitation, sexual extortion and other forms of sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of minors.

Hyves maintains a zero-tolerance policy for CSAE and CSAM. Content or behaviour that violates this policy will be removed and may result in the immediate restriction or termination of the relevant account. Where required by law, we cooperate with the relevant authorities.

Detection and moderation

Hyves uses a combination of automated systems and human moderation to detect and remove unwanted, harmful and potentially illegal content.

Images posted on Hyves are automatically reviewed using specialised content and image moderation technology. Content that is not permitted under our moderation rules may be automatically blocked or removed.

We also use specialised technology to support the detection of known material that may have been identified as CSAM. Potential CSAM signals are handled in accordance with our internal safety and escalation procedures.

In addition to automated checks, content on Hyves is actively moderated by human moderators. This includes both images and text. Reported content, or content flagged by our systems, may be reviewed manually and removed where necessary.

Reporting content

Users can report inappropriate or suspicious content and users directly within Hyves. This also includes content or behaviour that may involve child sexual abuse or exploitation.

Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. In the event of a potential violation, we may remove content, restrict account functionality or permanently block an account.

When we become aware of CSAM, we take appropriate measures to remove the material and act in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Where required, confirmed CSAM is reported to the designated competent authority.

Blocking users

Hyves users can block other users. A blocked user will then no longer be able to contact or interact with the user who blocked them in the usual way.

This feature gives users the ability to immediately stop unwanted interactions themselves.

Reporting users

Any user can report another user in cases of inappropriate, threatening, sexually inappropriate or otherwise prohibited behaviour.

A report may lead to further investigation by the moderation team. Depending on the severity of the violation, Hyves may take action against the relevant account.

Blocked and removed accounts

Hyves may block or permanently remove accounts from the platform when users violate our safety rules.

In cases of serious violations, including CSAE or the posting or distribution of CSAM, an account may be blocked or removed immediately. Where necessary, we take additional measures to prevent blocked users from misusing the platform again.

Cooperation and legal obligations

Hyves handles suspected or confirmed cases of CSAM in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Where required by law, we report confirmed CSAM to the appropriate national, regional or international authority and cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities.
