Mediahuis Radio continues its growth from the first half of 2025 into the second half, according to listening figures published today. For the year as a whole, market share stands at 11.9% in the important 20-59 age group and 9.4% in the broader 13+ age group. The main drivers of this growth are Radio Veronica and SLAM!

Tom Klerkx, CEO of Mediahuis Radio: “At Mediahuis Radio, we have the ambition to be a major challenger in the radio market. I am proud of the entire team that has done everything possible to achieve these results. Both in front of and behind the scenes, it's a great club, and I'm glad that listeners are noticing that too!”

Robbert-Jan van de Velde, Station Director Radio Veronica: "We are writing a whole new chapter for our iconic radio brand, with the best music of all time and a club of DJs who are all clearly passionate about good radio. We have started club days and more and more listeners are joining us, which is reflected in the results. These figures are the icing on the cake for the whole year. And we've only just begun!"

Radio Veronica success story

Radio Veronica's success story continues. The station is having its best year since the start of the National Media Research. Radio Veronica is rising spectacularly. In the 20-59 age group, its market share has risen by 53%, from 3.8% to 5.8%. In the broad 13+ target group, the increase is even 56%, from 2.7% to 4.2%. This is an extra special achievement because no other top 10 station in the Netherlands is growing in this target group, with the exception of JOE (+15%).

Broadcaster groups

Radio Veronica's significant increase is also reflected in the results per broadcaster group. Mediahuis Radio saw the sharpest rise among the broadcaster groups, with a 24% increase to 11.9% in the 20-59 age group and a 16% increase to 9.4% in the 13+ target group. DPG Media also shows a slight increase, from 6% to 26.6% in the 20-59 age group and by 4% to 18.7% in the 13+ age group. The NPO radio stations remain virtually unchanged and Talpa Radio declines.

SLAM! delivers unprecedented performance

Two years after losing its national FM frequency, radio station SLAM! has achieved an unprecedented performance. In 2025, the station scored a market share of 1.8%, returning to the level it had in 2023, when it still had a largely national FM frequency.

100% NL

In 2025, 100% NL had a market share of 3.3% in the 20-59 age group and 3.1% in the 13+ age group. This represents a slight decline compared to 2024. In 2026, the station will celebrate its 20th anniversary and will be pulling out all the stops for this milestone.
