Radio Veronica is by far the biggest climber in the radio market, and SLAM! achieves unprecedented performance in the first half of 2025
Mediahuis Radio experienced explosive growth in the first half of 2025 compared to a year earlier. In the broad target group of 13+, its market share rose from 7.2% to 9.3%. In the important commercial target group aged 20-59, the radio company even recorded an increase of 45%, from 8.3% to 12.0% market share. This growth is largely due to the success story of Radio Veronica, which more than doubled its market share. SLAM! also achieved a remarkable performance by matching scores from the time when it still had a national FM frequency.

CEO Mediahuis Radio, Tom Klerkx: "I can't help but be very proud of what we as a radio group have achieved in the past six months. Last year, Radio Veronica laid the foundations, and in the past six months, we have successfully continued to build the clubhouse it wants to be for its listeners. And we are far from finished! SLAM! also deserves a special mention: the station has achieved an unprecedented performance by scoring just as well in the first half of 2025 as it did in the first half of 2023, when it still had a national FM frequency. We also know where the growth opportunities lie for our broadcasting group and will be focusing fully on these in the coming period."
