Radio Veronica Revamps Weekday Schedule: The Earliest Afternoon Show in the Netherlands

Radio Veronica is adjusting its weekday schedule for the new radio season to better match listeners' workday routines. As a result, the station will feature the earliest afternoon drive show on Dutch national radio every weekday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, hosted by Wouter van der Goes and Frank van 't Hof. Sander Hoogendoorn has indicated that he wants to pursue new passions and will leave the daily lineup, although he will remain connected to the station. The changes take effect on 31 August.

Sander Hoogendoorn: "In recent years I completed a sports education program and specialized as a personal trainer. The enthusiasm I feel for that reminds me very much of when I first got involved in radio. I'm therefore really looking forward to putting that into practice. Unfortunately, that means I will no longer be making daily radio for the best listeners in the Netherlands. However, I will remain affiliated with Radio Veronica as a substitute presenter."

Robbert-Jan van de Velde, Station Director of Radio Veronica, explains:
"With this new programming schedule, we believe we can better align with the rhythm of the working day, as listeners are leaving work earlier. The longer daytime timeslots are better for listener retention, and Wout & Frank's afternoon show will start an hour earlier under this setup."

Regarding Hoogendoorn, Van de Velde adds:
"We had already been considering what the ideal schedule would look like. When Sander indicated that he wanted to further develop himself as a personal trainer, it became clear that a daily radio show would be difficult to combine with that ambition. Everything then fell into place. Sander has produced many great hours of radio at Radio Veronica, and we're not saying goodbye completely. He will remain affiliated with Mediahuis Radio."

In the new weekday schedule, the programs are designed to better fit listeners' routines throughout the workday. After Ekdom in de Morgen, which starts at 6:00 AM, Marisa Heutink will host her show from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by Bonanza with Rob Stenders from 1:00 PM. The Wout & Frank afternoon show starts at 3:00 PM. At 6:00 PM, they hand over to Niek van der Bruggen, who will host until 10:00 PM. During the remaining hours, Radio Veronica will play non-stop "the best music of all time."

The new programming schedule can be heard every weekday on Radio Veronica starting Monday, 31 August.
