De Telegraaf launches new app and site: ready for digital future

De Telegraaf app and (mobile) website have been completely revamped. The new platforms focus on the mobile user experience. In addition, the editors will have the opportunity to give more face to the digital platforms with the distinctive high-profile journalism of De Telegraaf.

The new app and website will better reflect the changing behavior of visitors. By far the majority of readers visit De Telegraaf via their smartphone. This makes the mobile experience for visitors even better. The updated navigation makes it easier for readers to browse to popular pages. On the new author pages, all articles and columns can be found. And on the front page, there are more opportunities to present the news in different ways thanks to flexible blocks.

“The paper front page of De Telegraaf is an institution. On our new platforms we can better showcase our high-profile journalism digitally as well,” said Kamran Ullah, General Editor-in-Chief of De Telegraaf, who sees the launch of the new platforms as an important milestone. “The editorial team of De Telegraaf is transforming into a digital editorial team, which of course continues to produce a newspaper six days a week. We are now taking a big step towards a digital future.”

Riske Betten, Director B2C, also emphasizes the importance of the revamp: “The new app and site were developed with our main goal in mind: to provide a news experience that is unique to De Telegraaf and connects with our readers, viewers and listeners. We combine speed, ease of use and journalistic impact in one digital experience. With this we are laying a solid foundation for the further digital growth of De Telegraaf.”

De Telegraaf touches, connects and moves readers with up-to-date news and in-depth background stories in current affairs, sports, finance and entertainment. Every month, more than five million Dutch people visit De Telegraaf digitally.
